Are These the Best Invoca Summit Speakers Ever?

Registration is now open for Invoca Summit 2020 and this year’s agenda is H-O-T hot! We have marketing pros from Salesforce and Tealium, speakers from brands like Dell, AutoNation, Amplifon, and Flagstar Bank, and, drumroll, please…

That’s right, Seth Godin, who was once named “America’s Greatest Marketer,” will be delivering the keynote at Invoca Summit on Tuesday, October 20. Godin is the author of 19 best-selling books and the founder of the altMBA and The Marketing Seminar, online workshops that transformed the work of thousands of people.

He writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership, and most of all, changing everything. You might be familiar with his books Linchpin, Tribes, The Dip, and Purple Cow. His latest book, This Is Marketing, was an instant bestseller around the world.

In addition to his writing and speaking, Seth has founded several companies, including Yoyodyne and Squidoo. On top of all this, Seth Godin’s blog (which you can find by typing "Seth" into Google—now that’s some SEO!) is one of the most popular in the world.

We wanted to bring some serious inspiration to Invoca Summit this year, and Erik Weihenmayer climbed right to the top of our list. Erik has become a celebrated and accomplished athlete despite losing his vision at the age of 13. Redefining what it means to be blind, Erik has transformed the image of blindness and opened up the minds of people around the world.

On May 25, 2001, Erik became the first blind climber in history to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. In 2008, he reached the summit of Carstensz Pyramid in Papua New Guinea completing his quest for the Seven Summits — the highest peaks on each of the seven continents.

Erik refuses to let blindness interfere with his passion for an exhilarating and fulfilling life and actively seeks opportunities to help others adopt a similar mindset. In 2004, Erik and his Everest teammates led a group of blind Tibetan teenagers to 21,000 feet on the north face of Everest as an educational outreach project. Their journey was documented in the film Blindsight. In 2010, Erik and his Everest team led the first Soldiers to Summits climb to the summit of Lobuche in the Himalayas, a quest documented in the film High Ground.

Erik’s “No Barriers” message is instrumental in the formation of the No Barriers Life elements, the foundation of his transformative work with youth, veterans, and people with all types of challenges.

Peter Coffee, VP for Strategic Research at Salesforce, has been with the company for thirteen years. He currently works with customers to accelerate their digital transformation in response to the global pandemic.

Peter will be presenting “Conversation and Co-Creation: Passing Tomorrow's Turing Test” on Wednesday, October 21. In this session, Peter will examine how Alan Turing famously proposed the ability to carry on a conversation as a defining test of "intelligence." Does your company pass that test? Are its conversations with customers responsive, or robotic? And who’s learning what? Peter Coffee brings the global perspective of Salesforce Strategic Research to the challenges of conversation in the context of COVID-19.
